The Wellwood Arms in Amble has relaunched following a £185k investment by independent pub operators, Punch.

This traditional community pub is situated in the heart of popular tourist town, Amble and is much loved by everyone in the community. Work has included a full redecoration to the exterior including new signage and lighting.

The inside of the pub has also been completely overhauled with a full redecoration, new furnishing, flooring and lighting throughout.

The Wellwood Arms is the perfect location for a break away offering bed and breakfast for guests staying in their 4 double, family rooms. All the rooms have been fully refurbished to a really high standard and are sure to be enjoyed by all who choose to stay.

The Punch owned pub will be operated by new Publican, Mark Rea, who has been at the helm since September 2019 bringing a wealth of experience in hospitality and a real passion for providing a fantastic experience for customers.

Mark said, ‘’I’m really pleased with how the pub looks, the investment has really done the Wellwood proud. We have lots of plans for the future and are really looking forward to welcoming customers old and new to come and enjoy their time with us’’

To match a fantastic drinks range the pub will also offer a high quality, all-day food menu. The menu will feature all the pub classics.

Customers will be pleased to know that the infamous Sunday Carvery is here to stay! People come for miles to enjoy an epic Sunday roast at The Wellwood Arms. With beautifully roasted meats, perfectly cooked veggies and suitably splendid roasties there’s no better place to be with family and friends on a Sunday.

The Wellwood Arms is very popular with walkers and customers are welcome to bring their four-legged friends with them when visiting. The pub even has its own dedicated doggie stations.

Following the refurbishment, Managing Director of Operations Andy Spencer said, ‘’The Wellwood Arms is a great pub and we are extremely pleased with the new look created here. With a fantastic Publican at the helm we are confident that the business will go from strength to strength.’’.

Punch owns and operates 1300 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales and is investing £32 million in its pub estate in the next year with the right Publicans running their pubs.
