The Johnson Arms, Abbey St, Dunkirk, is summer ready following a joint investment with Publican, Bradley Edwards and pub owners, Punch

One of Nottingham’s best kept secrets, the new look pub garden has undergone a major transformation making it a fantastic space for the local community and all the Queens Medical Campus staff to enjoy.

Work has included, a covered decked area and a beautiful terrace for customers to enjoy on those sunny days. Complete with new furniture, fire pits and garden blankets the Johnson’s beer garden is the place to be.

The garden has been landscaped to create more space and there is a marquee available to book out for those special occasions and community events.

Customers can while away the hours eating good food and enjoying a wide range of drinks from the bar whist playing petanque throw, or watching all the key sporting events which can be viewed inside the bar or, better still, in the garden which now boasts and external TV and big screen. With covered seating, lighting and outdoor heating this fantastic outdoor area can be used all year round.

Following the installation of the new kitchen in April the pub launched its new all-day menu which features all the pub classics from sharing platters to burgers and the all-important Sunday Roast.

Speaking about the refurbishment, business development manager for Punch, Mark Gardner, “We are extremely pleased with the new look and feel that Bradley and Marta have created here and are confident that this will be really popular over next few months and it is fantastic that the works will allow full use of the garden all year round.’’

Bradley said, “We are all excited to be reopening the garden just in time for the Bank Holiday weekend. With a Beer Festival from 2pm, Live music with Scribble Victory from 8pm on Friday 26th May, Lord of the Rings Trilogy from 7pm on Saturday & Emma Bladon Jones live from 7pm Sunday.  The Johnson Arms has always been central to the community and we know now with the exceptional surroundings, improved menu and great cask ales, we can now welcome back customers old and new to really enjoy their time with us.”
