The Penrhos Arms is a well-loved community pub with a traditional food offer, which is popular with locals and visiting tourists alike. Guests enjoy a separate lounge/dining area and a public bar with a pool table and darts. One central bar serves these two distinct areas.

Externally to the front is a wrought iron veranda seating around twenty guests. To the rear, you’ll discover a covered area seating a similar number. The savvy operator will promote the bed and breakfast side of the business. There are four letting rooms available.

About the local area

You’ll find the pub in the centre of the Anglesey village of Llanfair­pwllgwyngyll­gogery­chwyrn­drobwll­llan­tysilio­gogo­goch, better known as Llanfair PG. The pub is ideally located directly opposite the small train station, which gets circa 200k visitors every year to take a selfie with the station nameplate!

You’ll also discover the James Pringle shopping area, which receives coach loads of tourists most days, opposite the trade station. Other significant potential guests are students at the University of Bangor and visitors to see Anglesey Sea Zoo and the Port of Holyhead.

Ideal operator/s

The Penrhos Arms presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced operator. The business needs a knowledgeable food operator to run the kitchen and an experienced, business-minded professional who could capitalise on the pub’s potential.

Planned Investment

Now is the optimum time to take the reins, as we are looking to do an investment to the pubs external decoration. This will include improvement to the external footprint of the pub and upgrades to the external drinking areas to give the Penrhos a refreshing, inviting look. We would love the new publican to be involved with these plans as we will look to work closely with any new operator, but we have included some design photos in the gallery below to give an indication of the vision.
