Overview

Could you run this Selby pub?

Located in the beautiful village of Wistow, the Black Swan is a stone’s throw from Selby and only a short distance from York.

Here you will find great beer, delicious food, and fantastic times in a traditional English country pub setting. The Black Swan is also Cask Marque accredited – the sign of a great pint. The Black Sheep Brewery in Masham, that supplies the pub’s resident beer, also supports their membership.

Guests enjoy ever-changing beers alongside a good range of lagers, wines, and excellent cocktails. The beers complement locally sourced food. Guests enjoy offers throughout the week, including a steak night, a traditional Sunday roast and a selection of meats supplied locally.

The pub and location

The Black Swan is a truly traditional pub centrally located within the affluent village of Wistow, North Yorkshire, with 1,000 residents and known for stunning scenery and for being within reasonable driving distance of both Leeds and York. It’s the only pub in the immediate area.

The pub boasts a large beer garden with fantastic countryside views. It’s an ideal family venue, as the large beer garden has a playground ideal for sunny days.

Inside you’ll discover a restaurant area with 65 covers. Guests enjoy the pool table and the friendly space for all family occasions.

The ideal operator

The Black Swan would suit an operator keen to settle into a village community. You’ll be passionate about good food and drink and have the warmth of personality needed to build great local relationships.

The ideal operator should have a strong food background capable of working within and overseeing the catering operation. The new publican should have the ability to bring the local community together. You’ll organise events, undertake fundraising activities and introduce quiz nights, live entertainment, and themed events.

Accommodation

You’ll discover three bedrooms, a private kitchen, and a lounge.
