The Bakers Arms, Alton is back open, welcoming customers old and new following our £160,000 investment

Works included a full external redecoration with new signage and lighting. The inside of the pub has also been overhauled to create a more open space in which customers can enjoy all this historic pub has to offer.

The Bakers Arms is one of the oldest pubs in Alton and is perfectly located on the high street. The pub relaunched over the weekend with new Publican, Trudy Riley, at the helm.

Trudy has previously worked at the Bakers Arms and is really excited to have now taken the business on as her own. Trudy has a wealth of experience and a real passion for great hospitality, thriving on creating epic experiences for customers.

Speaking about the pub Trudy says ‘’I’ve always loved this pub and I’m excited for the future, Punch have been really supportive and I’m looking forward to working in partnership with them. The Bakers Arms will become the heart of the Alton community and I can’t wait to welcome customers old and new. We’ll be providing great hospitality, service, entertainment and of course great drinks!”

The Bakers Arms has a fantastic range of lager, craft and cask ales as well as premium spirits and an exciting gin menu. There really is something for everyone.

The pub will host all the key sporting events throughout the year whilst also providing weekend entertainment from charity quiz nights to specialist psychic evenings that will start in June.

This much-loved community pub remains home for two successful pool teams and Trudy is recruiting for a Darts team also.

Managing Director for Punch, Andy Spencer said, “This is a significant investment by Punch in an established community pub and we are extremely pleased with the new look created. With our new Publican Trudy at the helm, we are confident that The Bakers Arms will operate at the very heart of the community it serves.’’.

Punch owns and operates 1300 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales and is investing £32 million in its pub estate in the next year with the right Publicans running their pubs.
