The Journey So Far…

1997 – Our business was established when the original Punch Taverns portfolio was acquired from Bass Lease Company

1999 – Further growth came, thanks to acquisitions of Inn Business Group and Vanguard estate from Allied Domecq.

2003 – Punch acquires the Pubmaster business of 3,115 predominantly leased & tenanted pubs.

2004 – Punch acquires 1,064 pubs from InnSpired Group.

2005 – An additional 490 pubs acquired from Avebury Holdings.

2006 – Punch acquires the Spirit Group, an estate of 1,829 managed pubs.

2007 – Punch acquires Matthew Clark – The UK’s largest independent drinks distributor, later sold in 2015 to Conviviality Brands.

2011 – Punch successfully converts 700 pubs to the L&T format following the acquisition and subsequent demerger and separate stock market listing of the Spirit Group.

2015 – First Managed Partnerships pub opens.

2017 – Patron and May Capital, acquire Punch Taverns in a £1.8bn private transaction, with a simultaneous sale of 1,900 pubs to Heineken.

2018 – Punch Pubs & Co formed, with a strategic plan shaping its vision to become the UK’s Modern, Progressive Pub Company.

2020 – Punch wins the Best Leased & Tenanted Pub Company at the Publican Awards.

2021 – Punch is now a multi award-winning pub company, with an evolving, multi-model operation, providing a dynamic response to market and regulatory developments. Fortress Investment Group acquired Punch Pubs & Co from Patron Capital and May Capital in December 2021.

2022 – Punch wins the Best Leased & Tenanted Pub Company at the Publican Awards.
