The Birdcage, previously known as the Bolton Hotel, in Brixham has relaunched following a £257,000 investment by pub owners, Punch.

The new look pub has been transformed to give a new lease of life creating a fantastic venue that’s open, warm and welcoming for customers to enjoy all year round.

Work has included a complete refurbishment to the ground floor inside with cosy new seating and soft furnishing that lift the pub giving it a quirky edge and a really cool vibe.

Punch’s Managing Director, Andy Spencer said “This is a significant investment by Punch in an established community pub and we are extremely pleased with the new look created here. With our new Publican, Dan at the helm we are confident that the Birdcage will operate at the very heart of the community it serves.”.

The Birdcage now offers an extensive range of craft and world beers, quality wine and gins all served to the highest quality. There is also a newly introduced food menu which is available all day everyday and features something for everyone from stone baked pizza, sharing platters and small plates the menu is designed to be suitable for all. Using fresh produce from local suppliers The Birdcage is worth a visit on any occasion.

The pub will be operated by new Publican, Dan Simpson who has a wealth of experience operating a number of pubs in the region. Together with his management team Aaron James and Claire Brown they have some epic plans for the future.

Dan said, “We are really excited for the future here at the Birdcage. The pub looks great and I’m proud to have worked with my Punch PDM Kate and the team to create what we feel is a real talking point in town. We’ve had some fantastic feedback and the customers are already loving their experiences with us. We have lots of plans to make sure the Birdcage really stands out from the crowd, watch this space!’’

The Birdcage will also host regular entertainment on the weekend with the introduction of Jazz music nights and cocktail experiences.
